Watson travels American Routes
Tuesday, September 20, 2011 – Dale Watson will be on National Public Radio's "American Routes" this week, airing Sept. 21-27.
The Texas honky tonker talks about his career and his upcoming release "The Sun Sessions," coming out on Red House Records on Oct. 11. Hosted by Nick Spitzer, "American Routes" is a weekly radio program produced in New Orleans, presenting interviews and live performances by blues, jazz, gospel, country and Cajun acts.
Watson recorded his new album at Sun Studios in Memphis. Evoking the sounds of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley's early albums, Watson and his band The Texas Two bring an old-fashioned swing to 14 originals.
