"Crazy Girl" gets to the top

Monday, November 7, 2011 – The Eli Young Band is celebrating their first number one hit with Crazy Girl on both the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart and the USA Today/Country Aircheck powered by Medibase Chart.

EYB took over the top from Blake Shelton's God Gave Me You.

Over the weekend, Dierks Bentley surprised Eli Young Band on stage with a special cake congratulating them on the milestone. EYB is currently opening dates on Dierks' Cold Cans & Country Tour.

Lead singer Mike Eli said, "We've been really, I mean extremely lucky to have a lot of success, but this song has changed a lot for us, and especially now that it's getting so much radio play." He continued, "more people out there are hearing about us and hearing our music and it's really changing things for us."

The song was recently certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of more than 1 million downloads and has sold more than 30,000 copies a week, every week for months.

The band has been announced as performers for the 2nd Annual American Country Awards in Las Vegas, which airs live on on Dec. on Fox.

"The fans wanted another record that was the sound and the kind of songs that were the old-school Eli Young Band" said lead singer Mike Eli. They have responded with "Fingerprints," their first full length album since 2014's "10,000 Towns." Though clearly not as blatantly pop as the downright danceable EP, ...

The title cut, written with co-founder James Young, with its strong beat and up-front vocals, is tailor-made for listening while driving fast. With its "driving" beat and sing-along chorus, speeding tickets may increase. "Plastic" is about appreciating a girl who is ...
