Taylor Swift achieves digital gold
Monday, May 7, 2007
– Taylor Swift's hit single, "Tim McGraw," was certified gold digitally, a feat accomplished by only eight other country artists.
Only 10 other country singles have ever been certified Digital Gold. Others achieving that status were Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Big & Rich, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Dixie Chicks and Trace Adkins.
Life has been good for the teen since releasing her disc last fall. Swift went gold with the album (selling more than 500,000 copies), a Top 5 single with "Tim McGraw," is climbing the charts with a second single, "Teardrops on My Guitar" and has toured with George Strait and Brad Paisley.
Swift will perform on the live telecast of the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards May 15.
