Underwood announces new single

Tuesday, June 12, 2012 – The title track of Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" will be the singer's next single. Blown Away will attempt to duplicate the chart topping success of Good Girl.

Impacting country radio on July 9, the song has nearly 200,000 downloads prior to its official shipment as an airplay single. Underwood performed the song on "American Idol" on May 3 and the "2012 Billboard Music Awards" on May 20. Naming it "The Blown Away Tour," the country superstar recently announced she will headline her third arena tour of North America, starting Sept. 14 in Manchester, N.H., and continuing through December.

The song was penned by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins. Kear and Tompkins co-penned Before He Cheats, which held the country radio number one spot for five consecutive weeks and was certified Triple Platinum by the R.I.A.A. for sales in excess of 3 million downloads.

The music video of Blown Away was directed by Randee St. Nicholas and produced by Brandon Bonfiglio. A trailer of the video is available for viewing.

CD review - Cry Pretty Carrie Underwood's life was reading straight from the storybooks: one of the few American Idol Winners with ongoing success; a professional athlete for a husband; a beautiful baby boy. The string of great fortune turned sharply in 2017, when Underwood began the unfathomable experience of three consecutive lost pregnancies. This was atop a frightening fall at her home that ended with her face in nearly 50 stitches. Sharing these moments with her fans makes the beamingly-beautiful singer ...
