Jason Aldean debuts at number one

Tuesday, June 5, 2007 – More than tripling first week sales of his debut album, Jason Aldean's second Broken Bow Records album, "Relentless," debuts at number 1 on Billboard's Country Albums Chart and fourth on the all-genre Top 200 chart this week with scans totaling more than 90,000. Aldean enjoyed the third best country album debut of the year, following only behind Tim McGraw and Martina McBride.

"We've been out on the road trying to win audiences over one at a time with our live show, but you never know if that energy is going to translate into album sales" said Aldean. "This is definitely a career highlight so far, and I am really looking forward to being at CMA Music Fest this week, so I can thank all the fans personally!"

Bob Morelli, President, RED distribution, said, "It's unprecedented in the current music industry climate to see an indy artist come out of the box with such impressive numbers on a second album."

Aldean will jet to New York for a performance of his hit single "Johnny Cash" on Good Morning America tomorrow, before returning to Nashville for a full schedule of CMA Music Fesival activities including a Platinum Party to celebrate his debut album on Thursday, a stadium performance at LP field on Friday, followed by his 3rd Annual Concert For the Cure charity event to benefit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation later that night at the Wildhorse Saloon. Other national media appearances in the coming weeks include Fox & Friends (June 9), Tonight Show with Jay Leno (June 27) and a July stop at Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Aldean will hit the road again with superstar group Rascal Flatts this summer and through the fall.

It is a more than a respectable length for a single album. The remainder of the effort is padded with live tracks. The obvious question is why so long? In Adean's case, he said he has always leaned toward having more songs than less. Upon a sit down listen you get ...

CD review - 9 Hollywood may be pushing a broadminded agenda where there are more genders than one can even count, but in Jason Aldean's world, there are only two: tough guys, and the women that love them. There's no confusion it's a guy in the "Camouflage Hat," for example. Also, nothing is said or done without also washing it down with alcohol. The opener,"Tattoos and Tequila," breaks it down into tattoos to remember, and tequila to forget. Within its booze for every ...
CD review - Rearview Town If you liked Jason Aldean's three previous number one albums, you'll like "Rearview Town." He sticks to the winning formula that has brought him past success. The 15 tracks are mainly juiced up, muscular numbers with scorching guitar. Ironically, amid the torrid tempos and high volume that dominate the collection, the ballads are the standouts, especially with the duet with the Miranda Lambert on "Drowns The Whiskey." Instead of whiskey drowning a memory, the inverse ...
