Brooks visits GMA

Monday, August 13, 2012 – Kix Brooks will perform the title-track first single on his upcoming debut, "New To This Town," on the Wednesday, Sept. 12 show of ABC's Good Morning America.

In the meantime, fans can be listening soon for Brooks' new single, Bring It on Home, shipping to country radio later this month, and set to hit the airwaves with an airplay impact date of Sept. 3.

Penned by Brooks with his longtime friends and songwriting buddies Akins and Dallas Davidson, Brooks said, "Bring It on Home is really about a guy just getting back to what matters with love. I always liked the soulful attitude of this song and the kind of natural feeling.

Brooks said the song rings true for him in lyrics like "all my life I've been running." "I've been married a long time, but when I met Barbara, I kind of had that feeling, because being a musician and living in bars, it was that point, meeting her, when, you know, it's like, I think I may be ready to give up this lifestyle and try something that matters a little bit more," he said.

The 12-song collection, with 9 co-written by Brooks, was produced by him with Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts co-producing the title track.
