– For the first time, winners in 2 of the 12 CMA Awards categories will be announced live from Nashville on "Good Morning America," on Thursday.
Hosted for the fifth time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the CMAs airs live on Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
The winners for Musical Event and Music Video of the Year will be announced during the GMA broadcast live from Nashville. The program will also feature musical performances by Reba McEntire and an appearance by Paisley. Fans are welcome to attend the "Good Morning America" broadcast from Nashville on the Bridgestone Arena Plaza on the Corner of Broadway and Fifth Avenue.
"Each year, we announce our final nominees on 'Good Morning America,' and now we have the opportunity to announce two of our winners," said Steve Moore, Chief Executive Officer of CMA on Monday. "GMA is a terrific supporter of the CMA Awards and country music. I can't think of a better way to jump start the day as we lead up to The 46th Annual CMA Awards' broadcast on ABC."
"These two categories are normally presented during pre-televised activities and acknowledged during the Awards broadcast, which we will still do. But being able to share the announcement of the winners live with the broader GMA viewership and the live audience in Nashville adds a whole new level of excitement for our fans and the recipients," said Moore.
Winners of CMA Musical Event and CMA Music Video of the Year will be presented their trophies prior to the start of the CMA Awards. The proceedings will be hosted by CMA Vocal Duo and New Artist of the Year nominee Love and Theft and taped to air during the awards broadcast along with the presentation of the Musician of the Year Award and the CMA Broadcast Awards recognizing radio station and personality of the year winners.
