"Over You" takes Song of Year
Thursday, November 1, 2012 – Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton won the Country Music Association Award for Song of the Year for Over You.
"I lost my brother in a car wreck when I was 14 years old," Shelton said. "Later in life, when I decided to be a country singer, my dad always said, 'son you should write a song about your brother.' I lost my dad in January. It's so amazing to me that tonight he's still right."
Shelton talked with his wife by his side. Lambert cried while her husband spoke and later when she spoke and gave out her thanks.
