Pistol Annies reveal release info

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 – Pistol Annies announced Tuesday that the trio's soph disc will be "Annie Up."

The group - Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe - will put out a dozen songs with all written by the group.

The first single, Hush Hush, talks about sweeping family secrets under the rug to maintain appearances. I Feel A Sin Comin On is a bluesy ode to temptation. Unhappily Married is a look inside the daily grind of a couple resigned to stay together.

The confessional Being Pretty Ain't Pretty is about the process women go through to get dressed every day. The idea for the song was inspired by a Tweet that Monroe sent that she had just bought a ton of make-up and make-up wipes to take it all off. "Women are warriors and we go into battle everyday with the stuff we wear, said Presley. "You spend all this money for make-up and eyelashes and spray tanners just to wipe it all off at the end of the night," said Lambert.

Songs are:

1. I Feel A Sin Comin' On
2. Hush Hush
3. Being Pretty Ain't Pretty
5. Loved By A Workin' Man
6. Blues, You're A Buzz Kill
7. Don't Talk About Him, Tina
8. Trading One Heartbreak For Another
9. Dear Sobriety
10. Damn Thing
11. Girls Like Us
12. I Hope You're The End Of My Story

Presley wrote Loved By A Workin' Man by herself, while Lambert and Presley wrote Don't Talk About Him, Tina and Monroe and Presley penned Trading One Heartbreak For Another. Lambert and Monroe wrote Dear Sobriety.

Monroe just released a solo disc earlier this month. Lambert has been touring with Dierks Bentley.

CD review - Annie Up For those who thought "Hell on Heels" was a one-off side project for Miranda Lambert (along with sidekicks Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe), think again. The Annies, aka "Lonestar Annie" (Lambert), "Hippie Annie" (Monroe), and "Holler Annie" (Presley), are no novelty act. Instead, they tackle material that you just are unlikely to hear on mainstream country radio both in subject matter and sonics. Like the debut, this one also makes it quite clear that ...
CD review - Pistol Annies One might think that given the presence of Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies are some sort of unworthy side, vanity project for Lambert in between discs. They also would be most wrong because this is not just Lambert and a few sidekicks. Nope. This is a full-fledged, hardcore country trio album (Ashley Monroe and Angeleena Presley are Lambert's partners in crime) and an excellent one at that. The disc takes no prisoners to say the least, making that clear from the get go ...
