Reid wins Juno for Country Album of the Year

Sunday, April 21, 2013 – Johnny Reid won the Country Album of the Year at the Juno Award this weekend in Regina, Canada with "Fire It Up."

The Junos are the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.

Crystal Shawanda, who had a U.S. release on RCA, won the Aboriginal Album of the Year for "Just Like You."

Rose Cousins took the Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Solo for "We Have Made a Spark." Among those nominated were Corb Lund for "Cabin Fever" and Old Man Luedecke for "Tender is the Night."

Elliott Brood's "Days Into Years" was awarded Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Group for "Days Into Years." Others nominated included Great Lake Swimmers for "New Wild Everywhere."

Reid's Fire It Up lost for Video of the Year to Drake for Director X.

k.d. lang was named to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Mumford & Sons won International Album of the Year for "Babel." Taylor Swift's "Red" was among those nominated.
