Lambert plays Boston songwriters' gig
Wednesday, June 12, 2013 – Miranda Lambert has a few shows at Fenway Park in Jul8y, but she'll also play a special intimate guitar pull show as well.
Lambert will team up with Kip Moore along with songwriters Bob DiPiero and Brett James for a Country Music Association-sponsored show on Thursday, July 11 at the Royale Theatre in Boston. This marks at least the third year that the CMA is featuring this kind of event. Carrie Underwood performed last year and Kenny Chesney in 2011.
During the event, the performers tend to sit on stools with acoustic guitar in hand and trade songs, sometimes explaining the background of the song.
Lambert is playing at Fenway as the preamble to Jason Aldean, who sold out both shows.

Cynics might think that Miranda Lambert is presumptuous in entitling her fifth disc "Platinum" and, in effect, assuming she'll get her plaque for selling 1 million units. But Lambert says that isn't the case, but more a matter of style, looks and feel.

Every once in a while an album comes along that restores your faith in mainstream country music. Miranda Lambert's "Revolution" is just such a recording.
