The Civil Wars release studio video
Created by 1504 Pictures, the video provides a special behind-the-scene view into the duo's dynamic while recording their sophomore self-titled studio album, which will be released Aug. 6 on Sensibility Music/Columbia Records.
"The Civil Wars" was recorded in Nashville between August 2012 and January. Charlie Peacock was once again at the helm as producer for the album. Additionally, Rick Rubin produced the duo's performance for the track I Had Me a Girl in August 2011. Peacock later completed the track by producing the instrumentation and mix.

One gets the distinct sense that there's a storm a brewing on the jacket of The Civil Wars major label debut. It appears that a huge plume of black smoke is all that remains. Upon first listen, The Civil Wars comes off like a more Southern version of She & Him. While She & Him draws upon classic pop elements, The Civil Wars is much more country and folk focused. Charlie Peacock produced "Barton Hollow," giving it a simple, sparse acoustic sound; one that is very different from the man's usual solo music or other productions (early Switchfoot albums, which are all comprised of sharp electric guitar rock, and his own solo work veers closer to blue eyed soul). ...
