Urban becomes Idol again

Thursday, August 1, 2013 – Keith Urban is back on American Idol as a judge.

"Thrilled to be back on @AmericanIdol with my pal @RyanSeacrest and dying to know who the other judges will be!!!!," Urban posted on Facebook on Thursday.

Urban was a judge on last year's panel with Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey. Minaj and Carey feuded with each other from the get go and are gone from the show. Jackson, a mainstay of the show since its inception a dozen years ago, also is gone.

AI returns in January.

CD review - Ripcord Even though Keith Urban's single, "Wasted Time," borrows more than a little sonic sensibility from electronic music, there's still an upfront banjo solo. And this is how it's always been with Urban. He may play the part of the guitar hero at times, and even revealed his eclectic musical knowledge as a judge on American Idol, but Urban will always be a country boy at heart. And boyish good looks and talent have taken this country boy far, too. The wonderfully titled ...
