Urban becomes Idol again

Thursday, August 1, 2013 – Keith Urban is back on American Idol as a judge.

"Thrilled to be back on @AmericanIdol with my pal @RyanSeacrest and dying to know who the other judges will be!!!!," Urban posted on Facebook on Thursday.

Urban was a judge on last year's panel with Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey. Minaj and Carey feuded with each other from the get go and are gone from the show. Jackson, a mainstay of the show since its inception a dozen years ago, also is gone.

AI returns in January.

CD review - Graffiti U It's telling how two songs on Keith Urban's "Graffiti U" album chug along to a reggae beat because pop rhythms and non-country elements are the obvious inspirations for this collection. Opener "Coming Home" may borrow (steal?) a guitar riff from Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried," but this is where that country road begins and ends. Urban follows "Coming Home" with "Never Comin' Down," which is introduced with a funky bass line ...
