Brown celebrates golden anniversary

Tuesday, August 13, 2013 – Jim Ed Brown celebrated his golden anniversary with the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night.

The show was a night of tribute for Brown, who sang his new song In Style Again. "With all of the many awards and accolades in my career, this by far is the most important one of all, and I love you all for sharing it with me and being a part of my life in music, and my family here at the Grand Ole Opry." The audience paid tribute to Brown with a longstanding ovation.

At the earlier reception given to him by the Grand Ole Opry management, Colin Reed, Steve Buchanan and Peter Fisher were in attendance. Fisher presented Brown with a gold railroad watch. He was also presented with a certificate of his longtime membership.

After his appearance on the Grand Ole Opry, he was the host of the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree, where he was presented with a special cake commemorating his 50th Anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
