Young hospitalized with leg infection, cancels shows

Wednesday, August 14, 2013 – Chris Young is in a Denver area hospital with a leg infection in stable condition.

Tonight's headlining show in Kalispell, Mont. was cancelled as well as his performances on Brad Paisley's "Beat This Summer Tour Presented By Cracker Barrel Old Country Store" on Aug. 15 in Penticton, Canada; Aug. 16 in Mission, Canada and Aug. 17 in Brownsville, Ore. He is expected to resume touring in Redding, Cal. on Aug. 21.

While the origin of the infection is unknown, Young will remain in the hospital for at least the next 24 hours. He was en route to Kalispell, Mont. when the symptoms set in and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

"I'm so sorry to disappoint the fans but I didn't even know I was sick," said Young. "One minute I was fine. Then suddenly I'm being rushed to the hospital. I look forward to being up and around and back on the road."

Young's new single, Aw Naw, is climbing the country singles charts and is the first single from his forthcoming album, "A.M.," out Sept. 17 on RCA Records Nashville.

CD review - Famous Friends Given the massive success of Chris Young's award-winning collaboration with Kane Brown on the title track, it would be an easy assumption to make that his eighth studio album would tow the same contemporary line that landed him a bevy of hits. CD review - Losing Sleep Chris Young has one of the best country voices, and it's always a pleasure to hear him sing. But it's disappointing when the title cut sounds more like the groove to a Justin Bieber song than anything truly country. When, say, someone like Jason Aldean performs music with barely any resemblance to real country music, it's not that big a deal; he's not a great natural singer to begin with. However, Young's voice is just too good to waste on mere pop. ...
CD review - It Must Be Christmas Song selection can sometimes seem fairly inessential whenever chosen by a master singer. Such is the case with "It Must Be Christmas," Chris Young's new holiday collection. He sounds as perfectly comfortable with the jazzy "I'll Be Home for Christmas," where its supper club vibe takes a little of the edge off one seriously sad song, as he does with the Phil Spector rock nugget "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)." Young is also helped out by a few special guests. ...
