Hale postpones Opry debut due to illness

Friday, February 21, 2014 – After battling flu symptoms all week, singer/actress Lucy Hale canceled her debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry set for this evening.

Hale, 24, was looking forward to the performance, which she called "a lifelong dream." Hale's Opry debut will be rescheduled to a later date.

Hale was in the middle of a two-month long promo tour in support of her single, "You Sound Good To Me," meeting country radio, fans, and playing multiple performances across the U.S. before falling ill earlier this week.

Hale's debut album, "Road Between," will release June 3 on DMG Nashville/Bigger Picture Group.

Road Between CD review - Road Between
It's fascinating to hear how much more country Lucy Hale sounds once Joe Nichols sings along with her during their duet, "Red Dress." For the most part, though, actress/singer Hale sounds like countless other mainstream female artists, which is mainstream country generic. Listening to "Road Between" makes one especially appreciate female singers like Miranda Lambert and Reba - ones that can't ever quite get the twang out of their singing voices. »»»
