Bentley rides "Miles & Music" again

Tuesday, July 8, 2014 – Dierks Bentley's ninth annual "Miles & Music for Kids" celebrity motorcycle ride and all-star concert will be Sept. 28 in Nashville. Randy Houser, Kip Moore, Jon Pardi and Chris Young were announced Tuesday as the first artists to take part in the event, which has raised more than $2.5 million to date for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across the country.

Presale tickets are available beginning tomorrow, July 9 on www.dierks.com and general public tickets go on sale this Friday at 11 a.m. eastern.

The event comes while Bentley has been touring to support his latest disc, "Riser." "The Riser bird symbol we've been using to represent this album has really come to mean something to my fans. I've been hearing stories about it on the road, people are getting tattoos of it. It's a symbol of strength and resilience, and I think it's perfect to extend into what we do for Miles & Music, especially when we are talking about the history of the event, the bikers and fans who come out every year to support it and most importantly, the children and their families being treated at Vandy. " said Bentley. "The Riser Bird Movement that started this week is a cool way to get the community involved in a deeper way and earlier this year....it's been fun to see it start to spread across town."

This year's annual event will once again begin at the Harley Davidson of Columbia (1616 HarleyDavidson Blvd., Columbia, Tenn.) for an hour-long ride that ends downtown at Nashville's Riverfront Park. From Riverfront, Bentley will take the stage for a day of music with a lineup that will grow as the event approaches.

Although its lyric explains how while life circumstances may change, Bentley basically remains the same person. The same thing, though, can also be said about the country star's music. He's been recording for 20 years now. Yet Bentley has come this far with his integrity still intact. He's back with a strong, 14-song set that, like a good beverage, feels good ...
CD review - Black Dierks Bentley seems intent on expanding his musical boundaries, but he may have overreached too much in eschewing where he came from. That most evident by the dominating textured beats. Producer Ross Copperman and Bentley seem hell bent on injecting odd meters and sounds, sharp detours from past efforts. Unfortunately, the atmospheric beats muddy up the vocal delivery on "Freedom," a song that stretches far too long at almost four minutes. Bentley also channels U2 with its ...
CD review - Riser Change was in store for Dierks Bentley when it came to recording his seventh album, "Riser." On the personal front, he lost his father and added to his family, clearly affecting the subject matter of his latest. On the musical front, he traded long-time producer Brett Beavers, producer of every disc except "Up on the Ridge," for Ross Copperman, who has enjoyed more success as a writer, including several previous tracks for Bentley. Bentley embraces current trends in country ...
