Brooks releases new song on Wednesday
Tuesday, September 2, 2014 – Garth Brooks will release a new song, "People Loving People," on Wednesday, one day before he starts his world tour in Chicago.
The new song is a prelude to a new album coming out later this year.
The song is Brooks' first single since "More Than a Memory" in 2007. That became the first song to debut at number one on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
Michael Busbee, Lee Thomas Miller and Chris Wallin wrote the new song.
Brooks retired from touring in 2001 to stay close to his Oklahoma home and raise his three daughters. He has not mounted a major tour since 1998, although he did a residency in Las Vegas and has played occasional charity shows.
