Stanley, Bingham lead releases
Stanley, 87, is releasing "Man of Constant Sorrow" through Cracker Barrel. This is not the first time Stanley has released a disc with that name. In 2000, he put out a compilation album of songs from the '70s and '80s. This is a new collection featuring contributions from Dierks Bentley, Elvis Costello, Del McCoury, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale, Old Crow Medicine Show, Robert Plant, Ricky Skaggs, Nathan Stanley, Josh Turner, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings and Lee Ann Womack. Stanley, 87, also performs two songs on his own.
Bingham is out with "Fear & Saturday Night," an album that runs the gamut from country to rock. This is Bingham's fifth release and second on his own label. He gained acclaim for his song "The Weary Kind" on the "Crazy Heart" soundtrack, which won a 2010 Grammy for Best Original Song.
