Cam, Nashville top releases
Friday, December 11, 2015 – Camaron Ochs, better known as Cam, releases her debut disc hot on the heels of the success of her ballad hit single "Burning House." The California veers towards the pop side with a voice somewhat reminiscent of Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry. Cam, a California native who got into country on her grandparents' ranch, hand a hand in writing the 11 songs.
The "Nashville" TV juggernaut continues with "Season 4 Volume 1" out today. The disc features 17 songs, including Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler singing "Crazy" with Hayden Pantierre. Charlie Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio and the Stella Sisters are among those lending their voices.
Chris Carmack, who is part of the "Nashville" crew, is out with his own release as well. "Pieces of You" is a five-song EP. Carmack is considered a jazzier John Mayer with some touches of Americana and country.

California Girl Camaron Ochs was raised on Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman, to name a few. Ideally, she wants a song that takes you somewhere, like the 2015 uber-smash "Burning House." It lulls you in about a self-destructive love, but the surprise is that she stays and burns too.
Cam wasn't exactly a shrinking ...
Cam (Camaron Ochs) is another one of those artists only tangentially country. In the leadoff title track, you can hear banjo and twang in her voice (especially when she rhymes "wire" and "fire"), although the latter doesn't automatically stamp you with country bona fides. And this disc won't dispel the idea that Cam is more of an artist who has found her commercial marketplace in country, even if her songs more often tend to skirt country. After all, she did place ...
Following the legacy of other notable songwriters that have gone before her, Cam is stepping out from behind the shadows of the curtain where she's penned songs for artists like Miley Cyrus and Maggie Rose and is taking on the spotlight herself with her debut EP, "Welcome to Cam Country." And it's that fusion of pop sentiment, Southern California charm and real country sensibility that makes up the whole of the budding artist's sound.
"My Mistake" leads things ...
