IRS Nashville folds

Monday, December 14, 2015 – IRS Nashville, the home of Striking Matches, folded on Friday, according to Country Aircheck.

The label was started by former Sony Nashville head John Grady in 2013 along with Caroline, the independent services division of Capitol Music Group. The label was not exclusively country.

Others on the label were Marc Scibilia, Muddy Magnolias and Ashley Clark. The late Cowboy Jack Clement was part of the initial roster. The label had some success with Striking Matches' debut CD "Nothing But the Silence," which came out March 23.

The Country Aircheck article said the artists would be reassigned within Capitol Music.
