Stapleton lands in top 10
Sunday, January 17, 2016 – Chris Stapleton will have the only country CD in the Billboard top 10 when it is released Tuesday with "Traveller."
Stapleton's debut disc sold 33,000 units, down 20 percent, for the week ending Jan. 14, according to Nielsen Music.
Stapleton has been near the top every week of the Billboard country albums chart since winning three CMA awards in November.
The late David Bowie had the biggest selling disc. "Blackstar" sold 181,000 units, certainly boosted by his death one week ago, two days after the CD's release.
