O'Donovan tops releases

Friday, January 22, 2016 – Singer Aoife O'Donovan returns with "In the Magic Hour," the follow-up to "Fossils." O'Donovan has an ethereal singing quality. She has done time with Crooked Still and a host of side gigs including with Punch Brothers and Yo-Yo Ma.

The Cactus Blossoms are out with "You're Dreaming," their first for Red House. The disc from the Minnesota-based brothers Jack Torrey and Page Burkum (yes, they are brothers!) recalls the Everly Brothers. They have enjoyed gigs backing up Nick Lowe.

The Matt Flinner Trio shows its "Travelling Roots" on its latest combining bluegrass and jazzy elements.
