Stapleton stays in top 10
Sunday, April 3, 2016 – Chris Stapleton will have the only country CD in the Billboard top 10 when the charts are released on Tuesday.
Stapleton's "Traveller" sold 31,000 units, down 6 percent, and good for eighth on the chart, down 2 from the previous week.
Two country releases that had been in the top 10 - Joey + Rory's "Hymns" and Kane Brown's "Chapter 1" EP - fell out.
Former One Direction member Zayn Malik debuted in first with his debut solo effort, "Mind of Mine." He had 157,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 31with seals, track equivalent sales and streaming.

There was a bit of a controversy at the recent CMAs when Chris Stapleton beat out Morgan Wallen for best male vocalist, especially after Wallen had such a huge year, commercially speaking. Yes, one can make the case that Wallen is the most popular male singer in country music these days. Chris Stapleton's "Starting Over" release is one of those rare beauties of an album, where your favorite track may change from day to day. All of 'em are just that great. It is, simply put, Stapleton's best full-length to date.
