Chesney tops chart
Saturday, November 4, 2017 – Kenny Chesney will have the number one album in the U.S. when the charts are out on Tuesday with his live release, "Live in No Shoes Nation."
His eighth chart topper, the CD moved 219,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Nov. 2, according to Nielsen Music. All but 2,000 were in traditional album sales. The figure includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums.
Chesney is one behind Garth Brooks for most number ones among country acts.
This was the first live album to top the chart since "Hope for Haiti Now" did so on Feb. 6, 2010.
Chesney included the price of the CD in his upcoming 2018 stadium tour. It was not disclosed how many sales resulted from the bundling of the CD and concert ticket.
Chesney had the only country CD in the top 10.
