The Foo Fighters cancel tour following Hawkins' death

Tuesday, March 29, 2022

The Foo Fighters have cancelled upcoming shows due to the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.

"It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins. We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together," the band said in a statement released Tuesday.

Hawkins died on Friday while the band was in Colombia on a tour. Officials said that Hawkins had 10 different drugs in his system. The cause of death has not been determined.

The band was going to tour in the U.S. starting April 29 and then head to Europe for shows in June and July before returning for more U.S. dates.
