Fostering great anticipation
Rick Teverbaugh | July 13, 2009
There are previews and then there are distant previews and I will admit this is the latter. One of my all-time favorite singer/songwriters is Radney Foster. I don't recall when I first became aware of the Del Rio, Texas native but it was around the time he released the album named for his hometown. He was outstanding when he teamed with Bill Lloyd but has been even better as a solo artist.

Now comes the word that he is releasing his first album in three years. His last outing was 2006's This World We Live In. The new disc is titled Revival and it will come out on September 1. Go and preview the songs right here.
Foster is taking an all-too-familiar gamble with this record. He is doing it himself on his own Devil's River label. There are a number of ways that fans can become a part of this project from the very affordable to the quite pricey. Check it out at www.radneyfoster.com.
One song of note is Angel Flight, which was written with Darius Rucker. It is about the people who flying the bodies of fallen service people out of war zones. Proceeds from the song are being donated to charity. I'm quite excited in anticipation of this new release. Let me know what you think.
