Morgan returns with "Tonight Girl"

Friday, October 12, 2018 – William Michael Morgan, who had a hit with "I Met a Girl," is back with brand new music by releasing "Tonight Girl."

The 25-year-old Mississippi-native is re-introducing himself in a series of songs that he will continue to release over the next few months. The video for "Tonight Girl," directed by Colin Duffy, is the first in a sequence of linked visuals.

"A lot of the casinos down in Vicksburg, Miss. get packed out every night with blues music and soul," Morgan said. "It's everywhere, and they play right from the heart, so I wanted to put some of that sound on there. 'Tonight Girl' is a snapshot of how good it feels to have that one simple moment, that one night with someone special."

Morgan released his Warner debut, "Vinyl," in 2016. Morgan released two more singles from the disc. "Missing" topped out at 29, while the title track never charted.

CD reviews for William Michael Morgan

Did anyone bother to tell William Michael Morgan that he's seriously out of style? Who sports cowboy hats any more as the Vicksburg, Miss. native does on the cover of his debut? They were pretty much discarded (remember when hat acts got a tremendous amount of grief as poseurs?) years ago in favor of the baseball hats favored by the likes of Luke Bryan. Not surprisingly, Morgan has far more in common with the likes of George Strait (he still wears his cowboy headgear) than today's country popmeisters. ...
