Gilbert becomes father again
Braylen weighed in at 6 lbs., 7 oz. and measuring 19 ½ inches in length.
"It's such a blessing for us to welcome Braylen, and both momma and baby girl are doing great," Gilbert told People.com.
The Gilberts revealed in March they were expecting their second child, sharing photos of their gender reveal featuring 16-month-old son Barrett Hardy-Clay. After the family of three pulled a string on a box above their heads, pink balloons, balls and confetti rained down on the soon-to-be family of four, letting them know a baby girl was on the way.
Gilbert saw his most personal song to-date, "Man That Hung The Moon," take on a whole new meaning upon welcoming a little girl into the world.
"We had just found out Amber was pregnant with Barrett when I wrote the song originally - we couldn't even tell family yet as it was so early along in the pregnancy - yet I couldn't keep that excitement bottled up. I had to do something as all these emotions were hitting me at once. I wrote 'Man That Hung The Moon' on the bus heading home thinking how life was about to change in the most incredible ways," Gilbert reflects. "Braylen joining our family now makes it all that much more special."
The lyrics include: "Lost my breath when I saw you take your first / My whole world stopped like that / And I ain't the cryin' type / But I just saw your eyes / Words just can't describe what I see / You look just like me."
The track is off his upcoming album "Fire & Brimstone," out Oct. 4.

CD reviews for Brantley Gilbert
It would be easy (and lazy journalism) to write about how much Brantley Gilbert's music is un-country. You need only isolate the drum parts for most of these latest songs to confirm this is primarily a rock recording (masked as country). However, there are some quality - if not exactly country - songs on this effort, which cry out for a different sort of evaluation.
Gilbert saves his best for last with "Man That Hung The Moon," a song about fatherhood that will likely bring many dads to tears. ...
For those fans worrying over the potential demise of bro country, rest easy; Brantley Gilbert is here to keep that flag flying high. With the third version of Brantley Gilbert's "Just as I Am," he has almost doubled the average country album track listing. The definitive Platinum Edition contains 19 tracks that feature his trademark rock inflected country sound. The original 11 tracks are still intact, with the addition of the 3 songs from the original deluxe edition. Added on at the end are five new songs that largely fit well with the tone of the album.
