Prine in critical condition due to Covid-19
Sunday, March 29, 2020 – John Prine is "critical" in the hospital due to Covid-19, his family reported late Sunday afternoon.
Prine was the victim of a "sudden onset of Covid-19 symptoms," He was intubated on Saturday night and "continues to receive care, but his situaiton is critical."
""This is hard news for us to share. But so many of you have loved and supported John over the years, we wanted to let you know, and give you the chance to send on more of that love and support now. And know that we love you, and John loves you," the statement said.
Prine has earned a reputation as an excellent songwriter. He started his own label, Oh Boy Records, in Nashville in 1981. He is a two-time survivor of cancer.
