FarmAid, Nelson plan special broadcast Saturday night

Tuesday, April 7, 2020 – Farm Aid, the non-profit organization supporting farming in the U.S., and AXS TV, the music channel, present a special broadcast of At Home With Farm Aid, featuring performances by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews, on Saturday, starting at 8 p.m. eastern.

The hour-long live event reunites Farm Aid president Nelson, joined by his sons Lukas and Micah, with Farm Aid board members Mellencamp, Young and Matthews to raise funds and awareness for farmers impacted by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The hosting will be live. Three songs were performed and filmed last night, and AXS will have them within 24 hours of Saturday's broadcast.

The concert captures the quartet as they each tune in from their own homes and studios. Viewers can enjoy the simulcast on AXS TV and at www.farmaid.org, as well as across the Network's various social media platforms.

"The coronavirus has disrupted our entire country and is a grave threat to all of us. One of its many impacts is that it has helped us to better see the value of essential people like healthcare workers, grocery store clerks, delivery truck drivers, and farmers and ranchers," said Farm Aid president Willie Nelson. "Farm Aid has worked for 35 years to build a family farm centered agricultural system, and we are here now to support farmers and ranchers in this crisis, without whom we could not eat. The time to build a resilient family farm food system is now."

CD review - First Rose of Spring It's been obvious for some time now that Willie Nelson is essentially super human. At the age of 87, he's as active as ever, a wizened presence, spiritual icon and guiding light for all those that adore country music and Americana. While many of Nelson's recent works ...
CD review - Ride Me Back Home Time may be an enemy to most, but Willie Nelson seems a bit impervious to its ravages - a fact made evident on "Ride Me Back Home," a relaxed affair that showcases Nelson's still-strong voice and his sharp-as-ever songwriting and interpreting abilities. "Ride Me Back Home" is his 13th album for Legacy Recordings since joining the label in 2012 and coincidentally, it is also the 13th collaboration between Nelson and noted producer Buddy Cannon. This partnership, which ...
CD review - My Way Not one to rest on his laurels, Willie Nelson's second studio release of the calendar year finds the artist dipping back into the Great American Songbook. Previous collections, including 1978's stellar Stardust, 2009's "American Classic" and 2016's "Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin," established Nelson as one of the finest modern interpreters of American standards. So, it is only fitting that he now pays tribute to the man widely recognized as the ...
