Nelson's Outlaw Music Festival starts - without Nelson
Sunday, June 23, 2024 – Willie Nelson's Outlaw Music Festival launched on Friday with one key performer missing – Nelson.
""We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor's orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days," a statement posted to his X account said.
Nelson "is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week."
Lukas Nelson + Promise of the Real will play shows, playing songs that Willie, Lukas' father, would have played.
Others on the bill are Bob Dylan, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant and Celisse, a guitarist.
