Daniels memorial service coming Friday
The service will be at 11 a.m. Central at World Outreach Church, located at 1921 State Highway 99 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Gretchen Wilson and Trace Adkins will perform to honor the life of Daniels. The funeral will be led by SiriusXM's Storme Warren and pastor Allen Jackson. Due to COVID-19, funeral service attendees are encouraged to wear protective masks.
The service will be livestreamed via World Outreach Church's Facebook Page and website (wochurch.org), The Charlie Daniels Band Facebook Page and YouTube channel.
A private burial will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be addressed to (http://www.thejourneyhomeproject.org>The Home Project or by mail (17060 Central Pike, Lebanon, Tenn. 37090). Daniels formed the charity, which helps the U.S. Armed Forces.
Daniels passed away on Monday, in Hermitage, Tenn. of a hemorrhagic stroke at 83.

If anyone has any idea why it took Charlie Daniels so long to get mainstream respect from the country establishment, please speak now. By the time he was invited as a member of the Grand Old Opry, in 2007, he had been in the business nearly 50 years. 2016 - the year in which he turns 80 - saw Daniels finally inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Yet few country artists have managed the crossover success of a "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" (way back in 1979). ...
