High Valley carries on

Thursday, November 4, 2021 – Life goes on for High Valley despite the departure of one half of the Rempel brothers.

High Valley, the Canadian now led only by Brad Rempel following Curt's departure last June, is back with new music due out Nov. 12. "Whatever It Takes," (Jon Nite, Ben Stennis, Brad Rempel) and "Never Not," (Ben West, Matt Willis, Brad Rempel) are bluegrass-tinted country songs.

"It feels so amazing to be releasing new music again," said Rempel. "From the moment we started writing 'Whatever It Takes,' we felt like we had captured that signature High Valley magic. I've always felt we were at our best and most natural when we tap into that bluegrass stomp kind of sound that we love."

"'Never Not' is such a true song for us and the second verse is maybe one of the most honest straightforward lyrics I've ever written," said Rempel. "I have big dreams and hopes for this song finding its way into the hearts and lives of our fans."

High Valley is comprised of Rempel, Dave Meyers, Sam Bergeson, Raymond Klasson, Clint Milburn and Andrew Hemmerling.

The new music follows back-to-back Gold certified singles in the U.S., three number ones at Canadian Country Radio, two Gold certified albums, and six Platinum certified singles. The group had success on the U.S. charts with "Make You Mine" and "She's With Me." High Valley released its U.S. debut, "Dear Life," in 2016 and the EP "Grew Up on That" in 2020.

CD review - Way Back If there's one thing that the Canadian outfit High Valley knows how to do is to stay in their lane. The Rempel brothers duo is now down to one after Curtis amicably split from the band. The band is known for its unique bluegrass-infused contemporary country, and their sixth album bounces along playfully from start to finish. Thematically, the brief 37-minute, 13-song collection checks many of the country music boxes. The title track is a banjo-driven nostalgia anthem about simple pleasures. ...
CD review - Grew Up on That EP When Brad and Curtis Rempel began writing songs for their EP in the pre-COVID-19 era, the Canadian duo known as High Valley had no way of knowing "Grew Up Like That" would make a fine pandemic coping mechanism. The brief six-song collection is laden with tunes about family, love and good old-fashioned upbringing. The duo is known for its fusion of contemporary country and bluegrass. On this short collection, there is more gloss than grass. The production is slick, the melodies ...
CD review - Dear Life There's a scene in the movie "Bull Durham" where Kevin Costner tells Tim Robbins how holding the record for most home runs in the minor leagues is kind of a dubious honor - it shows a lot of years that you didn't make it to the majors. Is that what being the biggest country band in Canada is like? High Valley, who've scored an impressive run of Great White North charting singles and awards, would disagree - Shania's a Canuck ,of course. And everybody's from somewhere. ...
