Dan + Shay are all about "You"
Thursday, July 14, 2022 – Dan + Shay head to country radio this coming Monday with "You," their latest single.
The duo debuted the single on Late Night with Stephen Colbert.
Co-written by the duo's Dan Smyers alongside Dave Barnes and Jordan Reynolds, "You" hails is on the Platinum-certified album "Good Things." The disc has already yielded the chart-topping singles "10,000 Hours" with Justin Bieber, which has now been certified 5x Platinum, and the Platinum-certified "I Should Probably Go To Bed" and "Glad You Exist."

With Rascal Flatts gone, the heir apparent to the breezy pop country throne, Dan +Shay has taken its rightful place. Their fourth studio album, "Good Things," is a feather light 12-song cruise suitable for multiple radio formats from adult contemporary to pop and even country, though that feels like a stretch.
Each song was co-written and produced by Dan Smyers while Shay Mooney put his pen to eight tracks. One look at the credits, and you'll know which direction it will be headed. ...
The track list on Dan +Shay's self-titled third album has a song crediting Kelly Clarkson as a featured vocalist. Upon a full listen, you will think they forgot about a few others. The disc features the duo's contemporary sound that mirrors many artists in the genre. The lead-off track, "Alone Together," evokes Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox and is half of the only seven minutes on the tidy 35-minute collection that represent anything near up-tempo.

Dan Myers and James Shay Mooney came from different parts of the country (Allegheny County, Pa. and Arkansas, respectively) and met in Nashville where each was tracking the well-worn path to country music success. They began writing songs together a little over three years ago, already have a hit album ("Where It All Began") and now have another tiger by the tail.
Dan + Shay know a hook, can write songs and have identified a sweet spot in the formula of country music success. ...
