Thursday, September 15, 2022 – "Willie Nelson Live At Budokan" will be out in the first official album release of Nelson's performance of the concert on Nov. 18 on Sony Legacy.

The 27-song disc will be available in digital and 2CD/1DVD configurations

While "Willie Nelson Live At Budokan" has been previously officially available as a LaserDisc in Japan (which is now long-out-of-print, this concert performance of Willie and his backing Family band will enjoy its first official widespread release this fall. Produced by Nelson's longtime harmonica player Mickey Raphael (whose production credits include "Naked Willie" and "The Highwaymen" box set) and mixed by Tony Castle, the recording was sonically upgraded in what was Nelson's first Japanese show.

In his notes for this release, Willie says, "I believe that music, not only country music, but I believe that music is a great communicator. I think that it crosses all boundaries and I think that the people, regardless of whether they understand what I'm saying or not, they would feel what I'm saying and they will hear it in whatever language they are listening. CD review - A Beautiful Time They say if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life. Just ask 89-year-old Willie Nelson. Within recent history, he's been releasing records at a clip far younger people can only envy, at over an album a year. A tribute album to Frank Sinatra? Absolutely. Traditional hymns? Sure. Another tribute album to Frank Sinatra? You can't make this stuff up. Beginning with the 2017 "God's Problem Child" record, Willie started musically pondering the meaning of life. ...
CD review - That's Life Willie Nelson's decades-old explorations into the Great American Songbook continue with his second Frank Sinatra tribute in less than three years - the solid and satisfying "That's Life." As with its 2018 predecessor "My Way," Nelson once again joined forces with the production team of Buddy Cannon and Matt Rollings. Like that previous outing, Rollings' "That's Life" arrangements don't go far afield from those found on the tracks popularized by Sinatra. ...
CD review - First Rose of Spring It's been obvious for some time now that Willie Nelson is essentially super human. At the age of 87, he's as active as ever, a wizened presence, spiritual icon and guiding light for all those that adore country music and Americana. His prowess and proficiency remain undiminished, and the multiple albums he releases on a regular basis attest to the fact that he's not ready to retire any time soon...or ever even as far as that goes. While many of Nelson's recent works ...
