Rice proclaims "I Hate Cowboys" this Friday
The song is one of the two title tracks on Rice's forthcoming album, "I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell," out Feb. 10.
"I Hate Cowboys" will also be available everywhere that day along with an official music video that tributes the history of cowboy culture. Written by Rice alongside HARDY, Ross Copperman and Old Dominion's Brad Tursi, the song and corresponding visuals serve as a tongue-in-cheek ode to how cool cowboys are.
"When you listen to the song you of course get that I don't actually hate cowboys. I'm really fortunate to call several of them great friends," said Rice. "But damn, doesn't it make you crazy when Mr. Steal Your Girl kicks open the door — with that hat and those Wranglers, and he can two-step better than you, talk cooler than you? 'I Hate Cowboys' is an ode to the fact that just like Taylor Sheridan writes in Yellowstone, if it were easier everyone would cowboy...hell, I wish I could."
The disc contains 13 tracks, including three solo writes Rice. The project honors his late father, Daniel Rice, with its cover art.
The track list is:
1. Walk That Easy (Chase Rice, William Reames, Barton Davies, Jonathan Sherwood, Oscar Charles)

CD reviews for Chase Rice
If you think you Chase Rice's "The Album" sounds familiar, that's because it was released earlier as two EPs. Aptly titled "The Album Part 1 and Part 2," he marries those 11 songs with three new songs and a collaboration with Florida Georgia Line. He showcases his songwriting skills with credits on nine tracks. The sum total feels like it was borne from the contemporary country playbook. Young love is in the air on unsubtly titled numbers like" Bedroom" ...
Chase Rice has embraced Nashville's new business model of releasing music more frequently. Rice's EP "The Album Part II" will combine with the surprise seven-song January release of "Part I." Rice said, "The Album Part II only has four songs, so it's really easy for people to go check out all four songs. They're all very different."
The issue with incrementally releasing music, especially in the EP format, is a lack of cohesion. ...
