Midland pays homage to Lone Star State
Produced by the trio, the new track includes three-part harmonies, steel guitar and a classic country sound.
The track, also the namesake of their recently announced tour, was written by Midland's Jess Carson and Cameron Duddy along with Josh Osborne and Bryan Simpson.
"'Up in Texas' might be an ode to the place where we formed as a band, but it is meant to be blasted from a dusty old jukebox anywhere on the planet," said Carson.
"It's a Lone Star anthem honoring the people, places and personas that have made the state a lil' bigger than the rest," said Midland's Mark Wystrach.
The new single comes on the heels of their recent release of a cover of Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman."
MIdland has eight shows upcoming in Texas Ffrom February through March.
