Ferrell, Nefesh Mountain offer new music

Friday, January 31, 2025 – Sierra Ferrell released a deluxe edition of "Trail of Flowers" today. The well-received album contains two new songs, although both previously released in different recordings. "The Garden" is from the soundtrack of "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes." The other new song is the classic "Don't Let Your Deal Go Down," which she orginally released in 2021.

Nefesh Mountain, the band helmed by husband-and-wife Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff is out with "Beacons." The lengthy disc - 18 songs, 91 minutes - goes for more of an Americana sound, although the band also incorporates bluegrass into the mix. Helping out were Stuart Duncan on fiddle, Jerry Douglas on Dobro, Sam Bush on mandolin, Rob McCoury on banjo, Cody Kilby on guitar and Mark Schatz on bass. Zasloff has said this is the band's most personal album.

With its steel guitar and fiddle, "Bells Of Every Chapel" is far more country-ish, however. ...
