Doleac returns to "Bar Named Jesus"
Written by Doleac, Josh Jenkins and Chris LaCorte, the song explores themes of redemption, forgiveness and finding solace in faith while discovering a sense of belonging in a place of spiritual refuge - represented as "a bar named Jesus."
"Bar Named Jesus" is a song about redemption," said Doleac, "I don't know anyone who has never made a mistake. In fact, I don't know anyone who has only made one, or two or a hundred."
"We all need second chances, and we all need forgiveness. Jesus is both of those things, and He can meet us anywhere, even if that place is rock bottom. That's what 'Bar Named Jesus' is about, and that's the message that I hope people hear when they listen. There is NO SUCH THING as too far gone. He never gives up on us, even in the moments that we give up on ourselves. In my opinion, this is the best song I have ever written, and I am so excited that my buddy Thomas Rhett said yes to being a part of this song. It means the world to me to get to sing it with him, and I can only hope the world thinks it is as special as we do."
Doleac, a Mississippi native, released the disc "Barstool Whiskey Wonderland," in 2022.
