Wallen sets release date for upcoming CD

Thursday, March 20, 2025 – The release date for Morgan Wallen's upcoming fourth studio album, "I'm The Problem" is May 16, he said today.

The release will coincide with his inaugural, all-genre Sand In My Boots Festival in Gulf Shores, Ala. from May 16-18.

Wallen spent nearly a year writing and refining the tracklist from his farm just outside of Nashville with core collaborators, including producers Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome.

"I have been a problem, for sure, and I've got no problem admitting that," Wallen said. "But there are other sides to me as well. I've spent the last 11 months really trying to figure out, 'Do I still want to be the problem? Is it time to move past that phase in my life?' I think it probably is, and this might be the last time I get a chance to honestly say it."

Two new songs arrive tonight: "Just In Case," written by Wallen, John Byron, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Ryan Vojtesak, Josh Thompson, Blake Pendergrass and Alex Bak; and "I'm A Little Crazy," written by Michael Hardy, Smith Ahnquist, Hunter Phelps and Jameson Rodgers. Both songs were produced by Moi with Handsome joining as co-producer for "Just In Case."

Wallen will perform songs off the upcoming album on NBC's Saturday Night Live next Saturday, March 29 when he returns as a musical guest.

The project sparked Wallen's 2025 I'm The Problem Tour. Kicking off June 20 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Wallen's 20-show run will include stops in Seattle, Washington; Foxborough, Mass. and Toronto. With a second stop recently added in Madison, Wisc., Wallen's appearances will mark the first time an artist has played two consecutive nights at Camp Randall Stadium.

CD reviews for Morgan Wallen

CD review - One Thing At A Time Morgan Wallen's album, which is longer than the average movie or concert (at nearly two hours), is too long. Perhaps even a Wallen apologist would agree with that assessment. Yes, it may be possible to have too much of a good thing. Few artists can create such an epic full-length without at least a little filler. Wallen's good, but not that good. However, all the good stuff on this song-packed release is extremely good, and worthy of our attention. The hits far outweigh the misses. ...
CD review - Dangerous: The Double Album The buzz in the industry is that Morgan Wallen is primed to be the next big country music superstar. If prognosticators are correct with this prediction, the man fully deserves all the recognition. Proof positive is his "Dangerous: The Double Album," which is a humongous 30 songs long! It's a two-CD set. Not like a double album from back in the LP era, but a double full-length CD effort. Therefore, if you want to take a deep dive with this one, make sure you have plenty of air in your scuba tank. ...
CD review - If I Know Me "Like a lot of people my age, I didn't necessarily grow up listening to country music...I grew up living it." It's a little unsettling thought from the 24-year old Morgan Wallen. You wouldn't want to hear from your doctor that they substituted book learning for feel. But music may well be different, and Wallen does have some legitimate country cred - he hails not far from the Tennessee Cumberland Gap and went to Kenny Chesney's high school (What an alumni party that would be!). ...
