Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel recording joint album
Tuesday, March 25, 2008 – Willie Nelson is not exactly slowing down. He is at work on a joint project iwth Texas swing band Asleep at the Wheel on a joint album. They started recording last summer at the Wheel's Texas studio and now are recording when schedules permit, according to an employee at AATW's management company. A final song will be recorded Thursday.
The album is a covers disc of songs from the 1930's, including songs by Milton Brown. It is not clear when the CD will be done. AATW, which soon will tour Europe, previously worked with Nelson the "Last of the Breed" CD with Ray Price and Merle Haggard.
