Taylor Swift kick starts Nashville Star

– NBC's Nashville Star will kick off its first season on NBC with a performance by 2008 ACM Best New Female Vocalist Taylor Swift on June 9. Her performance on "Nashville Star" will be part of the show's two-hour premiere episode that will also feature highlights from the nationwide casting calls and will unveil the Top 12.
This year, Nashville Star moves from the USA network to NBC. CMT will show each segment as a rebroadcast. The new series also marks the first time it is being held at this time of the year. Nashville Star previously started in January.
