Toby Keith comments on Obama
Sunday, August 10, 2008 – Not one to shy away from controversy, Toby Keith made comments on a conservative radio talk show that the reason for Barack Obama's popularity is that he acts like a Caucasian.
On the Glenn Beck show on July 30, Keith said, "I think also that black people would say that he don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person."
Glenn Beck: What does that even mean?
Toby Keith: I don't know what that means, I'm saying that's what I think that they would say. Even though the black society would pull for him, I still think that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason that he is in is because he talks, acts and carries himself as a Caucasian, but I think he's got a I think him and McCain are the two best choices, in my opinion, that we've had in years.
Keith became embroiled in a brouhaha with the Dixie Chicks over comments lead singer Natalie Maines made in London the evening of the Iraq war.
