Darius Rucker scores chart double

Thursday, September 25, 2008 – Darius Rucker and held down the top spots on the Billboard country song and album charts for the week ending Oct. 4 with Don't Think I Don't Think About It and "Learn to Live" respectively. He took over the album chart from Jessica Simpson's "Do You Know," which fell to third. Rucker assumed the top spot from Jimmy Wayne's Do You Believe Me Now, which slipped to third.

On the song chart, Kenny Chesney was up two to second with Everybody Wants To Go to Heaven, while Kid Rock was up one to fourth with All Summer Long. Toby Keith was one to fifth with She Never Cried In Front of Me.

The biggest mover in the top 25 was Taylor Swift, whose new single Love Story, jumped from 25 to 18. Sugarland has a second single in the top 25 with Already Gone up 3 to 25, one behind the hit All I Want to Do.

On the album chart, Sugarland stayed second with "Love on the Inside," while Taylor Swift was fourth again with her self-titled debut. Eli Young Band debuted in fifth with "Jet Black & Jealous." Former American Idol Contestant Kristy Lee Cook debuted in eighth with "Why Wait." A compilation, "The Imus Ranch Record," debuted in 11th. Most of the albums took a dip on the charts.

On the overall top 200, Rucker was 5th, Sugarland 15th, Simpson 18th, Swift 25th and Eli Young Band 30th.

However, "When Was the Last Time" is a consistently good album, which is as respectable as it is likeable.
