Willie Nelson is busted
Tuesday, September 19, 2006 – Willie Nelson was cited for possession of marijuana and mushrooms during a routine traffic stop in Louisiana Monday.
Nelson and several people traveling with him including his sister received misdemeanor citations for marijuana possession after their tour bus was pulled over in St. Martin Parish.
Nelson's bus was stopped for a routine commecial inspection. Officers at the scene smelled something suspicious. A search of the bus found 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana and about .2 pound of psychedelic mushrooms.
Cited along with Nelson, 73, were his sister, Bobbie Nelson, 75, of Briarcliff, Texas; Gates Moore, 54, from Austin; David Anderson, 50, of Dallas; and Tony Sizemore, 59, of St. Cloud, Florida.
Conviction could result in six months in jail. Probation and/or fines are more likely.
