Taylor Swift continues at number one
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 – The chart magic of Taylor Swift continues because she is celebrating her fifth non-consecutive week at number 1 on The Billboard 200 with "Fearless" (Big Machine). The disc sold 90,000 units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
However, that represents a drop of 66 percent from the previous week. This is also the first week since Feb. 3, 2008 that a number 1 disc sold fewer than 100,000 units. That's when Alicia Keys' "As I Am" sold 61,000.
Swift had the only country disc in the top 10.
