Alvin plans tour with Guilty Women

Friday, May 8, 2009 – Dave Alvin and the Guilty Women will be hitting the road in support of their self-titled disc. The tour starts in mid-June in California and winds up in October in San Francisco.

Alvin recorded the disc, due May 26 on Yep Roc, in the wake of the death of his friend Chris Gaffney, who was also in his regular band, the Guilty Men. The women here are Christy McWilson, who was with Seattle's The Picketts, Cindy Cashdollar of Asleep at the Wheel fame, Nina Gerber, bluegrasser Laurie Lewis, Amy Farris, Sarah Brown and Lisa Pankratz, an Austin drummer.
