Krauss records with Union Station, no Plant CD this year
Friday, March 26, 2010 – While the word had been from Rounder Records that Alison Krauss and Robert Plant were going to have a second CD out, that is not the case, at least not in the near term.
Along with announcing Friday that plant was recording a new disc with the Band of Joy, the label also said that Krauss was recording with her long-time backing band Union Station "and will be touring with them this summer. The pair do not expect to announce a new album or tour in the coming year, though when asked about the collaboration, Plant says: 'Oh yes, Alison and I get together quite often...and sometimes we dance.'"
Of course, the statement did not rule out an album next year. Rounder head Ken Irwin previously has said the two would release another disc. "Raising Sand" was their first collaboration and did well in sales, press and on tour.
