Swift wins suit against counterfeiters
Thursday, October 7, 2010 – Taylor Swift won a court suit in Tennessee against 16 individuals she claimed violated trademarks by selling counterfeit merchandise with her name and picture.
The NashvillePost.com reported that Senior U.S. District Judge Tom Wiseman granted Swift an injunction and default judgment last week against 16 out of the 24 individuals named in a lawsuit she filed in May 2009. Swift said that her staffers found people selling fake goods across the U.S. during her 2009 tour. The items included T-shirts with her image on them.
Swift's spokesperson said she would have no comment on the suit.
